Executive Officer Ionising Radiation
Job Discription
The Ionising Radiation Manager position (EOIR) acts as a radiation health physicist for the Defence Radiation Safety and Environment (DRSE) Directorate and provides it with ionising radiation (IR) technical expertise and IR safety guidance. EOIR will implement the DRSE IR safety sub-program under the direction of the Deputy Director Radiation Hazard Management. Sub-program tasks include: provision of IR advice; conduct of assurance inspections and site visits; technical oversight of the logistics life cycle for IR sources; development of IR policy and maintenance of IR publications. Senior Health Physicist 

The Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Services, Radiation 

Protection Unit is seeking a Senior Health Physicist to join our small team in Tasmania.  The Senior Health Physicist provides support to the Principal Health Physicist and acts in that role as required.

If successful, you will:
Assist in the development and implementation of contemporary policies and legislation regulating the sale, storage, possession and use of radiation apparatus and radioactive material in Tasmania. Implement compliance activities, including complex investigations, to ensure the safe use of radiation apparatus and radioactive material in Tasmania. Provide expert professional advice to a diverse range of clients on a broad range of policy issues pertaining to the regulatory system for radiation sources. Provide assistance as required to professional and administrative staff undertaking operational activities.
