Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will possess: 

  • Technical experience in the field of radiation safety and/or health physics surveying, together with experience in the development of safety management frameworks, policies, procedures, plans and arrangements.  

  • Experience in nuclear facility safety management criteria, regulations, and expectations, developing safety cases, and dealing with regulators.  

  • Experience with various methods/tools/approaches to undertake safety risk assessments and making risk-informed decisions.     

  • An understanding of the safety case discipline related regulatory submission processes and the requirements to meet international best practice and obtain regulatory approval.  

  • An ability to work closely with engineering, design and operational teams, and to understand and influence safety driven design and operational processes.  

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills that foster trust and cooperation, and a proven ability to work effectively and with integrity within a politically sensitive and fluid environment.  

 

We are ideally looking for a candidate who has:  

  • Experience in, or a sound understanding of, the radioactive waste management industry.  

  • Sound understanding of Commonwealth Government processes.
