Phil Allanson

Phil Allanson

Philip Allanson is Operations Manager at Safe Radiation and a radiation safety officer with experience across industrial, environmental, medical, mining, and defence-related applications of radiation technology. He specialises in radiation protection solutions, instrument calibration, regulatory compliance, radioactive source management, emergency response preparedness, and radiation monitoring systems. Philip is Chair of the Queensland Branch of the Australasian Radiation Protection Society (ARPS) and Secretary of the Radiation Safety Users Group (RSUG), where he actively promotes professional development, collaboration, and radiation safety education. He is passionate about science communication, public outreach, practical risk management, and supporting safe, evidence-based use of radiation technologies across industry and the community.

Matthew Wiggins
Secretary

Matthew Wiggins

Matthew Wiggins is a Health Physicist at Queensland Health, specialising in radiation protection and nuclear sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Queensland University of Technology and is a certified Radiation Safety Officer. His expertise spans environmental monitoring, radon exhalation measurement, radiation safety management, radioactive material storage, gamma spectrometry, and radiation instrument calibration. Matthew has presented nationally and published in peer-reviewed journals. He serves on Queensland and National ARPS Executive Committees, and is Treasurer, Webmaster, and Chair of ARPS Young Generation Group. He is passionate about science communication, regulatory compliance, emergency response, and promoting radiation safety and public awareness.
