The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Approval Operations, you will monitor and enforce compliance with the Radiation Safety Act 1999 and promote the radiation safety and protection of persons and the environment. You will utilise your scientific and health physics knowledge to analyse evidence, data and research relevant to radiation safety and security, and assist with the planning and implementation of radiation safety interventions. Additionally, you will provide radiation-related scientific advice to various key stakeholders and provide regular reports and presentations.

The Office of the Chief Health Officer & DDG Prevention Division coordinates advice and support to the Chief Health Officer and Deputy Director General Prevention Division in the management and resolution of critical policy and operational issues affecting the division.

Our Ideal Candidate
Will have:
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge, expertise and skills in health physics or a radiation related science or as a general specialist in one or more of the medical, industrial, environmental or regulatory compliance specialty areas, and the ability to independently assess radiation health and safety in established radiation practice types
  • Proven ability to provide high level scientific advice to a range of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage specific investigations, research, and projects, and to critically analyse data.
