ARPS is leading the Australasian bid and early planning to welcome the global radiation protection community to Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.
IRPA18 is proposed as a major international gathering for radiation protection practitioners, researchers, regulators, industry representatives, students and emerging professionals.
The congress would provide a global forum for sharing practical solutions, scientific developments and professional experience across ionising and non-ionising radiation protection.
Alongside a strong technical and professional program, delegates would have the opportunity to build international connections and experience the landscapes, cultures and hospitality of Darwin and the wider Northern Territory.

The Australasian Radiation Protection Society is leading the bid and early planning for IRPA18 Darwin 2032.
ARPS represents radiation protection practitioners across Australia and New Zealand and is an Associate Society of the International Radiation Protection Association.
During the early planning period, ARPS will support stakeholder engagement, regional coordination and the development of the proposed congress.
Darwin offers a distinctive setting for an international radiation protection congress, combining modern conference facilities with the landscapes, cultures and relaxed hospitality of Australia’s Top End.
The Darwin Convention Centre is located within the Darwin Waterfront Precinct, close to accommodation, restaurants and other visitor facilities.
Darwin also provides a starting point for delegates interested in exploring the wider Northern Territory before or after the congress.
The roadmap below provides a high-level view of expected planning stages. Activities and dates will be refined in consultation with IRPA and other stakeholders.
