This position works within the NT Health Public Health Directorate and reports to the Manager Radiation Protection. The position assists in the implementation of the regulatory regime in the Northern Territory to protect people and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation; in particular, assist processing applications for radiation authorities, managing the database of radiation authorities and implementation of a program of inspections and audit of radiation practices.

Key duties can include;

  • Statutory inspections of radiation practices and investigate regulatory non-compliance within the NT
  • Review and determination of licence applications in accordance with the Radiation Protection Act 2004
