About the Opportunity
Sieverts Radiation Protection Consultancy is seeking a Medical Physicist to join its team in a remote, client-facing role servicing radiation safety and compliance needs across diagnostic imaging environments.
This position is suited to someone who is looking to further develop their technical capability and work toward increasingly independent practice. The successful applicant will build knowledge of legislation and industry practice while contributing to high-quality client outcomes across performance testing, shielding design, radiation safety officer functions, audits, advisory work, patient dosimetry, and associated reporting.
The role is full-time and requires regular travel, with flexibility in scheduling to meet client needs. You will work from home and travel to client sites as required.
About You
To be considered for this role, applicants should demonstrate the following:

Bachelor of Science (Medical Physics) degree or equivalent, with a suitable GPA

Availability for a minimum 2-year contract term

Current QLD Radiation Use Licence

Access to reliable transport, preferably your own vehicle

Full Class C open driver licence

Reliable internet and phone access to support remote work requirements

Proven capability with online applications and Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Exposure to CRM systems and Metlab or similar platforms

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Initiative, confidence, integrity, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment

A conscientious, organised and efficient approach to work

A positive attitude and willingness to contribute as part of a team
Duties and Responsibilities
The role will involve working toward independent delivery of the following services and responsibilities:

Performance testing of x-ray modalities and x-ray premises
-
Shielding design calculations and reporting for various x-ray modalities

Radiation Safety Officer functions, including audits and advisory services

Radiation safety advisory work
-
Patient dosimetry calculations and reporting
-
Adherence to internal reporting processes under the direction of trainer physicists and managers

Proper record keeping in the Sieverts CRM in line with company requirements

Other miscellaneous technical projects and work as required
Hours, Availability and Travel
This role requires regular travel and a high level of flexibility. Appointment schedules may change at short notice depending on client bookings and cancellations, so the successful applicant will need to manage their calendar carefully.
You will also be responsible for ensuring you have the relevant testing equipment for each scheduled appointment and for taking the initiative to coordinate access to equipment when needed.
This is a remote working position. Travel within Queensland and interstate will be required as part of the role.
Licensing and Accreditation
The successful applicant will be expected to work toward full licensing and accreditation within timeframes advised by the company and agreed as reasonable by both parties. This includes:

Maintaining an existing QLD Radiation Use Licence

Obtaining Radiation Use Licences in two additional states within 9–12 months of commencing

Obtaining relevant Radiation Safety Officer certifications as advised

Applying for QLD accreditation as advised

Applying for accreditation in two states, including QLD, as advised
